McNab Bridge Project

For the past few years the City of Pompano Beach has been planning, designing and budgeting for the replacement of the McNab Road Bridge over the C-14 canal. This bridge, built in 1959, was last inspected by the Florida Department of Transportation on 3/31/24 with the result it is deemed “Functionally Obsolete”.

The project has started. The project time line is 18 months from start to finish. The  First phase is the “Streetscape” portion, work started July ’25 with completion expected by November ‘26. The Second phase will be the replacement of the McNab Road Bridge, with expected start in May ’26, with completion expected September ’26. The Bridge will be closed to automobile traffic for the duration of bridge construction. Original discussions called for a Temporary Bridge, but apparently it was deemed not feasible, as it would extend the timeline considerably. As a result, there will be a temporary detour setup. Expect traffic flow to increase through the neighborhood between McNab and NE 62nd Street, as well as increased traffic flow on NE 62nd Street in both directions.

Imperial Point homes on the water will benefit with the higher bridge clearance of four (4) feet; allowing for a wider tide window on when you can get out/in, and/or bigger water toys. This clearance has evolved over time from 4’, to no increase, then back to 4’.
