This year's Fall Harvest Event was composed as a "Block Party" and was held on Imperial Point Drive October 19th. We decided this year to try new ideas to stage our events, with emphasis on keeping them in the neighborhood and safe.
For Fall Harvest, we contracted with Bonnie Posh of Posh Productions, LLC taking the lead in designing/producing the "Party in the Point". Bonnie was able to get the immediate neighborhood involved on Imperial Point Drive allowing this idea to come to fruition. The support we got from the City of Fort Lauderdale was second to none. The city provided Police and Fire support allowing this to be a very safe event as we closed the street between NE 22 Ave and NE 21 Lane. The city also provided us tents, chairs, tables, a free tree giveaway, as well as staff support. Bonnie got us some EXCELLENT food vendors to be on site, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Jet’s Pizza and Casa Frida Mexican Cuisine. Another first; a Free Bicycle Helmet Give Away program supported by the Dept. of Transportation, University of Florida and the Broward Sheriff's Office.
In addition, Posh Productions was able to get several businesses to sponsor the event making this a great “meet the neighbors” event. Several of the sponsors also provided some very valuable raffle prizes for the attendees that bought Raffle tickets. See the sponsors below and click on their logos to visit their web sites and support their businesses.
The Imperial Point Civic Association hosts three of these major family oriented events during the year: Spring Fling, Fall Harvest, and Winter in the Park. These events are great ways to meet your neighbors and local business sponsors. These events are FREE for paid members and family! Non-members are encouraged to attend and can join the organization while attending.
